Candle Review; Bath & Body Works > Some Bunny Loves You

IMG_1106

If you’re like me and you missed out on The Sweet Shop Bubblegum candle then you were probably excited to hear that they came back out with it for Easter but only as a mini candle called “Some Bunny Loves You”.

The scent notes are;

Pink Sugarcane, Juicy Watermelon, Hint of Vanilla

Which ironically fused together do make a prettyyyy strong bubblegum scent! Crazy, right?!

Oh, well, I thought so lol.

I have the bigger version as you’ve seen in my previous blog post but I don’t want to burn it cause it’s the only one I have though I’m SO CURIOUS to know if the bigger one has a better scent throw.

SPEAKING OF.

The scent throw sadly for this small one is pretty… non existent. Which is really sad! On cold sniff it’s SO strong. Like I think if I just left it open it might have thrown it better lol! When lit this doesn’t smell like anything. I don’t know if it’s just the first burn that’s like that, but I haven’t burned it again.

I personally feel like ever since Bath & Body Works stopped working with Slatkin & Co the candles, especially the mini candles don’t have a very strong scent throw anymore. This is also true for some of their other 3-wick candles.

I do love the scent of this — I’ve been super attracted to Bubblegum and Cotton Candy scents for awhile now, I’m not sure what the reasoning behind this is besides that it seems like a happy scent and everyone could use a bit of happy through their days!

I may very well give in and light the bigger one just to see if it makes a difference. I just wish the bigger one wasn’t so hard to track down! I see they have the Lavender Marshmallow, Lemon Drops and a few others still in stock on the site (which I’m thinking of buying another of these also so I can light the ones I have and not feel guilty) but a lot are also missing. Strange.

Have you purchased this mini? Were you able to get your hands on a Bubblegum candle?

Lip Smacker x Mickey & Minnie Mouse Valentine’s Day set

IMG_8950

It seems every year there’s a special Limited Edition Lip Smacker Mickey & Minnie Mouse lip balm set for Valentine’s Day.

This year it featured Mickey in Marshmallow Hugs & Minnie Mouse in Sweet Candy Kisses.

I had the one from last year as well but I never opened/tried them and I didn’t blog about it, though I’m not sure why I didn’t.

IMG_8951

Minnie has a cute Strawberry themed looking bow between her ears and Mickey is sporting a red heart on his right ear. But that’s not all!

IMG_8952

CAN WE TALK ABOUT HOW CUTE THEIR LITTLE MOUSE BUTTS ARE?!

I loved the design they were dressed in and their little tails made it even better! I don’t know,  I guess I just assumed it was just the front face part that was designed.

IMG_8953

I’m gonna start with my favorite former boss, Mickey.

The thing I’ve never been a fan of when it came to these TsumTsum lip balms is that they’re so dang head heavy! And how small of product you actually get (granted I’ve never actually finished one of these, but still, roll with it) compared to the size of their cute huge heads!

When I first tried these two out I concluded that Mickey tasted like Magic Kingdom.

The scent and the taste of this lip balm reminded me of a really pretty sunny day walking across Main Street USA and eating my favorite Chocolate Marshmallow’s from The Confectionery. It’s that kind of taste/scent. I’d say that he had a pretty heavy spot on taste and scent of marshmallow with a really nice powdered vanilla flavor.

IMG_8954

When it came to Minnie, I felt like she tasted like EPCOT.

Like, if you were to take Flower & Garden Festival and wrap it up into one flavor, it would be this Minnie.

She had a really sweet fruity taste/scent to her. I could pick out Strawberries and Watermelon and a hint of what sort of reminded me of lollipops.

The only problem was as good as she tasted when first applied, as it faded it just started to taste/remind me of what a big huge sugary mess would smell like lol. I wasn’t a fan of what it would fade into.

The scent/taste and the moisture factor for both of these lip balms lasted a really good amount of time. I didn’t find myself reapplying it as much as other lip balms and it wasn’t at all drying as it did fade.

I really enjoyed trying these guys out. I collect almost anything TsumTsum and I have a number of these lip balms and I USE to review them. I don’t know why I stopped! I had so much fun putting this post together!

I’m curious to know what next years flavors are going to be!

Arlington, TX: Royal Tea

I love Boba/Bubble Tea.

It took me a few years to figure out which ones were “safe” and a few more years for me to be brave enough to venture into new flavors and combinations.

And through out the almost 2 years Bubba and I have been together we’ve tried a number of new places in our area, I think this is the 6th one. And now I haven’t written about all of them — though I probably should.

IMG_5082

Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of the menu but I came across this place while looking for Boba in a lightbulb, like the kinds you see all over Instagram from LA. And it turns out this place has a selection of Snow Ice and Eggette Sundae’s as well! I’ve never tried an Eggette but have always wanted to and I’ve tried Snow Ice about 3 times when I lived in NorCal but I don’t really remember much of it. Just that it was soft and refreshing.

I saw this place had a special Boba flavor and special heart shaped as well as pink colored Boba and Jellies for Valentine’s Day. The special flavor was a type of Rose and last time I tried that it turned out to taste more like perfume so I skipped it; instead I opted for the Strawberry Mango Lime Refresher with the heart shaped Jelly.

Bubba got his usual go to — Coconut Smoothie which is always so freakin refreshing no matter where we get it from. I just wish there was a jelly or something that would go well with it.

IMG_9457

It’s hard to see, but there really were heart shaped Jellies in my drink! They didn’t have any particular flavor and after the drink was almost finished they were harder to suck up through the straw. I ended up having to rip open the top part and scoop them out.

IMG_9572

This place also had a number of snacks that I’m really looking forward to trying! I got the Coconut Shrimp this time and it was amaaaazing! I don’t remember how much these were but they were much less than what you’d pay at a steakhouse, that’s for sure! And they were just as, if not better.

Looking forward to the next time we get to pop by here to try more of their snacks and drinks! There’s also a cute Ramen shop it’s attached to though I don’t remember the name now, but I’m also looking forward to trying that place out as well!

Candy Review; Cherry Lovers Fruit Chews

IMG_5068

I literally thought these were jelly beans when I picked them up… even though they’re MUCH bigger than your average jelly bean and they’re heart shaped.

The thing that got me was that they’re made with REAL Cherry Juice! Also I’m a sucker for basically anything cherry flavored.

IMG_5070

There’s a ton of different flavors listed on the back and it’s sort of hard to tell which is which because at least 3 of them look exactly the same!

I know for a fact I’ve had Cherry Vanilla, Cherry Cola, Chocolate Cherry, and Wild Cherry. It does have the tart flavor of what real cherry juice would taste like and some of them have distinct tastes but the 3 plain reds that look alike sort of start to blend in together. Chocolate Cherry is not good at all. I don’t know how to explain it besides not good lol. Cherry Cola is probably my favorite one of the ones I’ve tried so far. Hunting down the other flavors is kind of hard because they start to all blend in together after awhile.

This was a fun thing to try and it does taste good but I’m not like in love with it or anything which I thought I would be!

Also, I sort of wish I had painted my nails prior to taking these photos lol, oh well!

What’s your favorite Valentine’s Day candy?

Hello, Travel

Valentine’s Day at Disney World

IMG_3359

I wish I had taken more photos during this time of year all the years I lived in Florida/Disney World but to be honest I only got to go to the parks once the whole time I lived there and I didn’t even get to walk around or really do anything so yeah, that sucked. But I did manage to snap this photo of hearts on the castle, this was back in 2013 by the way.

IMG_3246

There was also a time when Candy Cauldron did customized apples, white chocolate with sprinkles were my fav. Last time I went there last April they said they didn’t do custom apples anymore. It was a sad sad day.

I don’t know what it is about seasonal sprinkles but they seriously make the treat that much more festive and enjoyable!

IMG_6722

Overall Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween and Fourth of July treats at Disney are probably my favorite time to see Goofy’s Candy Co at Disney Springs just bursting with colors and different treats of all kinds. I do love how around Valentine’s Day the Minnie apples and cake pop’s come out!

IMG_6724

The ones to the right were literally a pain to get a photo of because of the damn glare. But you can see the cutie cake pops next to the apples and I think those are better, personally.

I wish I could remember if we had Valentine’s Day themed treats when I worked at Candy Cauldron in 2011, but I honestly don’t remember at all. Working at a Disney candy shop though is a special kind of magic and if I’m being honest, my favorite kind of magic besides working in The Tree of Life and in Fantasyland.

IMG_6730

I’m also slightly obsessed with Minnie and kind of always have been — at least since I first worked at Disney in 2011. I love that she wears an oversized bow. I don’t know what it is about that but I just love it! And plus she’s always decked out in pink and the world girly describes her.

Sadly I didn’t get one of these apples the day I snapped this photo and I didn’t get to go back as often as I’d like to so I never got to grab one. I was a little hesitant to be honest, as much as I loved my apple sliced I didn’t want to mess up the prettyness of this apple and it’s not like I could be like, “hey can I take a couple hundred photos of this outside THEN can you slice it?!” okay they WOULD slice it if I had asked and if I had done that, I know I did it for other people. The request really is not that crazy.

Huh, I don’t know why I didn’t get one!

But next time I’m in the parks around this time of year I’ll MAKE SURE to grab one!

IMG_3475

And just in case you needed proof — here’s a photo of when I use to prop my hair up so I could pin a bow to it like Minnie does, I don’t know how I got my bangs to part so nicely that day or how the heck the Pixie Dust looks like highlights but I freakin love this photo!

I’m also one of those people who stop by Sir Mickey’s at Magic Kingdom or the Bibbity Boppity in World of Disney to get covered in Pixie Dust. It’s my happiness, what can I say? My first Disney College Program apartment literally had glitter everywhere. It was awesome.

Have you been to the Disney parks around this time of year? What’s your favorite thing to do or your favorite treat?

Review; Olay Cooling White Strawberry & Mint Body Lotion

PTKX8212

I’ve been obsessed with this scent for a few years now, it was a random discovery and ever since then I’ve kept the body wash around. I don’t use it as much anymore since I use that duo sponge thing more now a days but this is still one of my favorite scents! I wish they’d make a duo sponge of this one!

This body lotion came in a set I got for Christmas and not gonna lie, I wanted the set for this lotion itself and well the deodorant that came with it too.

The consistency of this lotion is pretty thin, it’s definitely not thick or creamy or oily. It’s pretty thin but it does have a cooling sensation to it and it does have that pretty White Strawberry & Mint scent I love. But also it absorbs really really quickly into the skin. I love the way my hands feel after using them as I tend to have really dry hands in the winter that sometimes will crack and bleed. This lotion has been helping them stay really soft and hydrated!

I’m sad I’m almost out and I’m scrambling to find out where I can get more since it seems this product isn’t typically carried in stores! I’ve found it at one online retailer but they only carry it online and not in stores, whomp. I’m wondering if I can get it shipped to the store for free shipping though…

Either way I’m IN LOVE with this body lotion! Definitely one thing I look forward to the most during my bed time routine!

Hello

Hello February!

img_9027

Is it Spring yet?

I mean I’m sneezing like crazy like it’s Spring. It’s not 11* every night anymore (thank goodness) and all the pinks and reds of Valentine’s Day is definitely coming together.

I’m pretty excited for this time of year! I love Spring and despite my past depressing Valentine’s Day’s and Easter’s they’re still some of my favorite holidays. It’s hard to be upset when the weather can be damn near perfect and there’s so many happy and pretty colors everywhere!

I don’t have that many goals to complete this month as I already feel overwhelmed as it is with all the goals I’m trying to complete on a week to week basis; I think I’m going to cut some down and try to pace myself instead of trying to “make up for lost time” because then I just get stressed and I push things off even further which in turn ends up just depressing me.

So here are some things I do hope to accomplish this month;

⇢ Read 3 books (to stay on track with my Goodreads goal)
⇢ Film/write reviews for the 2 books I finished in December
⇢ Post some sort of blog entry from now until Valentine’s Day
⇢ Prep posts/videos for Easter and Spring
⇢ Attempt to cook ONE new thing
⇢ Catch up on animes
⇢ Start watching a new TV show
⇢ Organize clothes and bins
⇢ Organize closet
⇢ Organize bookshelf

February isn’t a very long month either so, whomp! Hopefully my shorter list will inspire me to attempt to get more things done this month, we’ll see!

What are some things you’re looking forward to this month?
