Weekly Recap; May 13th – May 19th

We were suppose to go on a date night last night but I got hit with my period on Friday afternoon and even though this month I DIDNT GET ANY PMS AS A WARNING it decided to fuck me up this weekend instead. I’ve always had really heavy and really short and painful periods because I’m under weight and anemic. So if it’s not insane cramps it’s fuckin crazy migraines and I’m ALWAYS so drained.

So. Date night was pushed back.

Sad days.

But very thankful that Bubba understands and tries his best to make sure I’m comfortable and takes care of me when I’m stuck in period pains.

Weekly Recap; April 8th – 14th

I’m sad my birthday month is half way over!

Though it seems Spring is playing hide-and-go-seek here in Texas. One day it’s 90° and the next you’re waking up to 40°. The weather here is so freakin crazy! But at least today there’s sunshine!

Weekly Recap; April 1st – April 8th

I got to upgrade to an iPhone 8 (WITH 200+ GIGS OF MEMORY BOIIII) from an iPhone 6S. It’s taking me a bit of time to get use to it. I keep forgetting both sides of the phone are glass. Thus making it slip off of things even more easily.

When I handed the guy my phone at Verizon he took it from me, looked at it and said: “Do you not believe in phone cases or have something against them?” I’ve NEVER had a case on my phone ever since getting the iPhone 4. I had an Otterbox once that broke (and I never even dropped it so how the hell…) and I had a Snow White case when we moved to Disney the second time. But other than that, I DONT have a case on my phone.

I’m not gonna say I NEVER dropped it cause I do, sometimes frequently but even if it lands face down on hardwood floor I have NEVER broken my screen. The only damages I’ve done to my phone was probably water damage. Like, the first iPhone I ever got. But since then I’ve had a pretty good track record of keeping it in mint condition even without a case.

It worries me a little bit that this phone is glass on both sides. But I still don’t have a case, even though Bubba keeps insisting I get one. It’s my OCD, it doesn’t like cases on my phone (or anyone’s phone to be honest) so it makes it hard to find one that my OCD is okay with.

Food

Arlington, TX: Royal Tea

I love Boba/Bubble Tea.

It took me a few years to figure out which ones were “safe” and a few more years for me to be brave enough to venture into new flavors and combinations.

And through out the almost 2 years Bubba and I have been together we’ve tried a number of new places in our area, I think this is the 6th one. And now I haven’t written about all of them — though I probably should.

Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of the menu but I came across this place while looking for Boba in a lightbulb, like the kinds you see all over Instagram from LA. And it turns out this place has a selection of Snow Ice and Eggette Sundae’s as well! I’ve never tried an Eggette but have always wanted to and I’ve tried Snow Ice about 3 times when I lived in NorCal but I don’t really remember much of it. Just that it was soft and refreshing.

I saw this place had a special Boba flavor and special heart shaped as well as pink colored Boba and Jellies for Valentine’s Day. The special flavor was a type of Rose and last time I tried that it turned out to taste more like perfume so I skipped it; instead I opted for the Strawberry Mango Lime Refresher with the heart shaped Jelly.

Bubba got his usual go to — Coconut Smoothie which is always so freakin refreshing no matter where we get it from. I just wish there was a jelly or something that would go well with it.

It’s hard to see, but there really were heart shaped Jellies in my drink! They didn’t have any particular flavor and after the drink was almost finished they were harder to suck up through the straw. I ended up having to rip open the top part and scoop them out.

This place also had a number of snacks that I’m really looking forward to trying! I got the Coconut Shrimp this time and it was amaaaazing! I don’t remember how much these were but they were much less than what you’d pay at a steakhouse, that’s for sure! And they were just as, if not better.

Looking forward to the next time we get to pop by here to try more of their snacks and drinks! There’s also a cute Ramen shop it’s attached to though I don’t remember the name now, but I’m also looking forward to trying that place out as well!

Recap 2017; Top 7 Favorite Food Finds

I thought writing this entry would be easy… but as I was (endlessly) scrolling through my photos of food of 2017 I realized… this isn’t going to be as easy as I thought.

In my mind 2017 was divided between the last bit of my life in Florida and the beginning bit of my life in Texas; through Ubereats I discovered a lot of food I fell in love with before I left Florida and through DoorDash and adventures with Bubba there’s a lot of food I discovered in Texas. But I tried to narrow it down to the foods I would go back to. So while this isn’t a complete list of foods I found to be my favs this is a list of foods I loved enough to buy more than twice.

Let’s start with what I discovered in Florida:

Food

Fort Worth, TX: Sushi Nikko

On a trip to Kohls I couldn’t decide what to eat and saw a Sushi place listed somewhere in the plaza we were in and suddenly, I wanted Sushi.

So we set out to find this Sushi Nikko place!

IMG_5079

We started with the “Summer Meets Winter” roll which had a lot of really good stuff in it and was topped off with Coconut shavings. Here’s the actual description:

Crab Meat, Eel inside, Mango, Avocado, Coconut Sprinkle on Top

And it was goooood! I don’t know what that sauce on it was but it was a nice balance for all the different flavors going on in the roll.

I had debated between getting Udon on a Bento Box and ended up getting the Teriyaki Beef Bento Box in the end and I absolutely regret nothing!

The Gyoza’s were PERFECT! I’m so sad I only got two and the Ginger Dressing on the salad was so satisfying! It’s crazy — I typically don’t like Ginger, at all. But I love love love Ginger Dressing at Sushi places! Everything about this plate was just amazing. I loved it all!

I’m glad my boyfriend enjoyed it as well since Sushi isn’t his first choice when it comes to finding a place to eat lol. I hope to go back and try the Udon next!

Hello, Recap

Weekly Recap; Nov 5th – Nov 11th

I can’t believe how fast this year is just FLYYYYYING on by! It’s pretty much mid November now meaning Thanksgiving is not too far away and once that happens it’s full blown Christmas until the end of next month.

The temp has been dropping here like crazy and I’m pulling out all my hoodies and I need to find my sweaters as well as reorganize my closet to fit all the winter clothes now that summer is finally gone!
