Weekly Recap; April 30th – May 6th

Not even gonna comment on how fast time is flying. Months just zoom by and it’s so crazy. I’m highly convinced that the older you get the more the days speed up! Like now it’s 4pm and I swear it was just 230 like 5 seconds ago!

This week was pretty good and again I’m including Sunday since I’m writing this on Monday.

I got myself the April Julep mystery box as a bday gift to myself and I don’t know… I’ve been a subscriber for like 5 years and I use to love these boxes but their other ones included makeup and skincare (which their makeup and skincare? I LOVE) but this one included mostly polish this time around and I don’t wear blush so… it doesn’t have any use for me. Not to mention I’m not too impressed with the polish shades that they included. I mean nudes are always nice to have around but I guess I was just hoping for something MORE.

I also finally gave this a light and I LOVE it!

It smells like a watermelon Jolly Rancher! I didn’t end up going back for the Cactus one but it’s still heavy on my mind. I also heard that Bubble Gum was back up on the site last night but when I checked this morning it was all gone. Man that’s quick! Some day I’ll catch another one lol.

But highly impressed with this scent and throw. Not to mention I love this packaging though it’s very similar to the Fall one from last year with the “camping” collection. So I’m a little confused why they used the same theme. But the frosted jars are always nice.

Weekly Recap; April 23rd – April 29th

I didn’t post this yesterday becauseeeeeeee Bubba’s sister gave him money to take me out for a late birthday gift so we went on an adventure. I usually keep Sunday out since I post ON Sunday but I’ll include it in this week’s post!

Also it looks like I already recapped the 22nd in the last weekly recap blog post so we’re gonna start with Monday the 23rd.

I can’t stop taking pictures of my bookshelf! There was a small tour video before this but I can’t post videos on my blog posts at the moment. But this was posted on my instastories on readarella!

Bubba spent the week here so I felt safe enough to take bubble baths. I used this lavender bubble bar from LUSH; the purple bits turns your bath purple but it’s packed pretty tight so it’s a bitch to try and break off with your hands. I now see why people on Instagram make LUSH cocktails. It’s so much easier! But breaking it by hand is also fun.

Finally snapped a photo of the new MAC stuff Bubba got me last weekend! I love the packaging for this collection but only on the lip products. The panda head is a little heavy so I wouldn’t bring it around in my purse but it’s definitely cute to have on my vanity!

I wore the lip color yesterday (photos will be at the end of this post) but I didn’t make it super dark. It was pretty when you put it on lightly — likeĀ my lips but better. Even though Bubba said it didn’t match anything I was wearing (yet he said I shoulda got the dark blue one to match my outfit but I don’t feel like I can pull off boldddddddd colors like that lol). The gloss to the right is just a clear with glitter topcoat but oh gosh it’s so sparkly and pretty! And of course I LOVE the smell of fresh MAC lippies! Mm, vanilla cake.

Hello, Recap

Weekly Recap; March 4th – March 10th

Welp, I got most of the cleaning done this week that I was aiming for. There’s still some stuff left to do but the desk, kitchen and my bookshelves are done. Granted I want to move around some more stuff around my desk but I just don’t know what or to where. So for now, it’s done.

Buuuut I gotta wait until next week to get my desktop. So, whomp.

Food

Arlington, TX: Royal Tea

I love Boba/Bubble Tea.

It took me a few years to figure out which ones were “safe” and a few more years for me to be brave enough to venture into new flavors and combinations.

And through out the almost 2 years Bubba and I have been together we’ve tried a number of new places in our area, I think this is the 6th one. And now I haven’t written about all of them — though I probably should.

Unfortunately I don’t have a photo of the menu but I came across this place while looking for Boba in a lightbulb, like the kinds you see all over Instagram from LA. And it turns out this place has a selection of Snow Ice and Eggette Sundae’s as well! I’ve never tried an Eggette but have always wanted to and I’ve tried Snow Ice about 3 times when I lived in NorCal but I don’t really remember much of it. Just that it was soft and refreshing.

I saw this place had a special Boba flavor and special heart shaped as well as pink colored Boba and Jellies for Valentine’s Day. The special flavor was a type of Rose and last time I tried that it turned out to taste more like perfume so I skipped it; instead I opted for the Strawberry Mango Lime Refresher with the heart shaped Jelly.

Bubba got his usual go to — Coconut Smoothie which is always so freakin refreshing no matter where we get it from. I just wish there was a jelly or something that would go well with it.

It’s hard to see, but there really were heart shaped Jellies in my drink! They didn’t have any particular flavor and after the drink was almost finished they were harder to suck up through the straw. I ended up having to rip open the top part and scoop them out.

This place also had a number of snacks that I’m really looking forward to trying! I got the Coconut Shrimp this time and it was amaaaazing! I don’t remember how much these were but they were much less than what you’d pay at a steakhouse, that’s for sure! And they were just as, if not better.

Looking forward to the next time we get to pop by here to try more of their snacks and drinks! There’s also a cute Ramen shop it’s attached to though I don’t remember the name now, but I’m also looking forward to trying that place out as well!

Weekly Recap; Feb 4th – Feb 10th

I find itĀ a little crazy at how close Valentine’s Day actually is from today!

Bubba and I haven’t gotten on FFXIV to do the Valentine’s Day event (granted the mount you get sucks, but still this is the first holiday event since we’ve been together that we haven’t done) or taken Valentine’s Day photos!

Whomp!

I’ve tried posting as many Valentine’s Day themed posts as I can, some I haven’t even gotten around to yet and others are still recaps of 2017. I mayyyy post publish those… we’ll see. I mean after all it’s just a place to archive my year for me, right?

Recap 2017; Top 7 Favorite Food Finds

I thought writing this entry would be easy… but as I was (endlessly) scrolling through my photos of food of 2017 I realized… this isn’t going to be as easy as I thought.

In my mind 2017 was divided between the last bit of my life in Florida and the beginning bit of my life in Texas; through Ubereats I discovered a lot of food I fell in love with before I left Florida and through DoorDash and adventures with Bubba there’s a lot of food I discovered in Texas. But I tried to narrow it down to the foods I would go back to. So while this isn’t a complete list of foods I found to be my favs this is a list of foods I loved enough to buy more than twice.

Let’s start with what I discovered in Florida:

Food

Fort Worth, TX: Sushi Nikko

On a trip to Kohls I couldn’t decide what to eat and saw a Sushi place listed somewhere in the plaza we were in and suddenly, I wanted Sushi.

So we set out to find this Sushi Nikko place!

IMG_5079

We started with the “Summer Meets Winter” roll which had a lot of really good stuff in it and was topped off with Coconut shavings. Here’s the actual description:

Crab Meat, Eel inside, Mango, Avocado, Coconut Sprinkle on Top

And it was goooood! I don’t know what that sauce on it was but it was a nice balance for all the different flavors going on in the roll.

I had debated between getting Udon on a Bento Box and ended up getting the Teriyaki Beef Bento Box in the end and I absolutely regret nothing!

IMG_5085

The Gyoza’s were PERFECT! I’m so sad I only got two and the Ginger Dressing on the salad was so satisfying! It’s crazy — I typically don’t like Ginger, at all. But I love love love Ginger Dressing at Sushi places! Everything about this plate was just amazing. I loved it all!

I’m glad my boyfriend enjoyed it as well since Sushi isn’t his first choice when it comes to finding a place to eat lol. I hope to go back and try the Udon next!
